It skipped at first, then I turned it over and saw the clear soft plastic protective cover that covers the bottom of the mouse and partially interupts the laser. I removed it and the silver sticker that goes around the lazer as well and it has performed flawlessly since. Excellent for games and I do CAD with it as well. So if you're skipping, try uncovering the lazer D.A.
